One of the most asked questions about hot tubs is how hot should it be! This answer really varies with the type of people who are enjoying it and what the weather is like outside! Hot tubs have a limit of 104 degrees and with good reason. Anything higher than that could be dangerous for your health. So what is the best temperature?

85-95 Degrees

This temperature is great for those hot summer days when you don’t really want to use your hot tub for the warmth of its waters. When the water in your hot tub is between 85-95 degrees, it becomes more like a mini pool.

Although it sounds tempting, keeping lower temps with the idea of a lower electric bill may not be as fulfilling in the end. It can create stress on your hot tub’s heater and circuit board! Which could cost you more in the long run!

95-99 Degrees

Hot tubbing as a family can be fun but when it comes to little kids. Pediatricians agree that children under the age of five should not be hot tubbing! Five and older can enjoy the hot tub as long as it set to a lower temperature. Even with lower temperatures, monitor your kiddos and have them step out of the hot tub every ten to fifteen minutes. This will allow their bodies to cool down, which will protect them from overheating! While they are cooling down make sure they drink lots of water!

100-104 Degrees

Now, if you are the type of person who likes to shower in lava water, these temps are the ones that may appeal to you the most! Always be careful about enter a hot tub if you are pregnant or have any type of health issues. If you do have any health concerns, always talk to your doctor before entering a hot tub!
