Buying a hot tub can sometimes feel stressful when you look at all of the options at once! Everything from the price point to the features can be very confusing. Should you buy a hot tub with a lower cost or a higher price tag? Well, I am glad you asked. Let’s say that buying a lower cost hot tub is comparable to buying a smaller, more affordable car and buying a higher priced hot tub is like buying a fancy, sports car.

Both of them are great and reliable vehicles that will get you from point A to point B…so what does make them different, anyway?

Size

When it comes to hot tubs, size does matter! The truth is, both sizes of tubs may have many of the same standard functions, but because a smaller hot tub is more economical for the manufacturer…it is going to have a smaller price tag. Small hot tubs are easier to store, ship and manufacture compared to their larger counterparts. This makes it more affordable for you as the consumer. Yet, larger hot tubs are known to have a sleeker design, which can be reflected in their higher selling price. Both have their advantages.

Bells and whistles

How badly do you want all of the bells and whistles? This can be a big factor in the price of a hot tub. Higher priced tubs may come with all of the extras, like Bluetooth, moveable jet pods, mood lighting…etc. While lower cost hot tubs may be more user-friendly and come with only a few extras besides standard features. Your preference in the extras can be the deciding factor in which price range you choose.

Energy-efficiency

When replacing the windows or upgrading the appliances in your home, you may notice the cost of an energy-efficient item is much higher than your standard option. Right? The same applies when comparing a higher and lower-priced hot tub. Energy-efficient hot tubs may come with a higher price tag. It may seem to cost more today, but the savings will come gradually over the course of the next several months.

Remember, no matter which type of hot tub you decide to buy, the end result you are looking for is relaxing and enjoying the time in your hot tub. I can guarantee you that both price ranges will ensure you a stress-free evening.
