When you think of a backyard pool most people picture traditional in-ground styles. But for many, less expensive above ground pools are a fantastic option – not only for their lower price point but because they aren’t permanent. This makes them great for homeowners who may want or need to move their pool at a future date.

As with any purchase, when you’re shopping around it’s always helpful to know how much you can expect to spend. As we’ve shown you with hot tubs and in-ground pools, we also want to show a pricing guide for above ground pools. Above ground pools are available in three general categories: Entry-Level, Medium-End, and High-End.

Entry-Level

Starting at $599

Entry-level above ground pools are a great way to dip your toes into pool ownership. These non-permanent pools can be moved, so they’re also a good option for people who need something a little less “forever.” Typically constructed of a steel frame with a vinyl liner, you can expect these pools to last about 10 years. They’re available in several sizes and can be purchased with heaters and filters.

Medium-End

Starting at $1599

While not permanent, pools in this range do need to be installed. Expect solid walls with a vinyl liner, a wider range of sizes, and some shape options, too. These pools will need filtration systems, and heating systems are available. Additional options can be added to enhance your pool experience, and you can expect a longer lifespan from these pools, than those in the entry-level category.

High-End

Starting at $2999

A top-of-the-line above ground pool can last 30 years. Yes, really. Round or oval, up to 35 feet, and with heavy-duty metal or resin walls, these pools are built to last.
